Oh, come, oh, come, Emmanuel,
And ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear.

Rejoice, Rejoice, Emmanuel
Shall come to you, O Israel

my all-time favourite Christmas carol!

christmas today in church was fun, as always:) running around and gift giving and hand-shaking is nice hahaha! sarah had this random idea to suddenly pop round the different groups of people and go, 'merry christmas!' and shake everyones hands haha, super embarrassing but fun!

i wish my family had christmas dinners ahhhhhh D: but my family's kinda more chinese traditional hurhur. which can be pretty fun to, i guess. our christmas thing is, to sit around late at night and discuss what next year will bring and end of in prayer. it would've been really nice, but i've never really had a thing for discussions. yeah like at youth camp, i'll just sit there and hope no one asks me to answer questions, cos most of the time i just crap out an answer, which is sad hurrr.

christmas presents and cards were really nice too! thank you everyone:D

oh man my fridge is like, full of candy now. i'm so going to be like fatter ahhhhhhh. haha either that or i'll die from high blood pressure or diabetes or something hahaaaa.

eugh my neighbour was like scolding her kid a little while before this D: lighten up lady, its christmas!

I WISH JEANNETTE WERE BACK FOR CHRISTMAS D:
i miss my twin!

haha k before i go, have a great christmas everyone!

i've (almost) finished my christmas baking/presents! i'll be in malaysia tomorrow to saturday, back in time for christmas:D

just when i went back to pop the last batch of brownies into the oven, my dad walked in through the door with...
the threadless shirts!
yes, they're finally here:D
after some checks, they're 20 per piece, and i'll be passing it to those who ordered soooon. what a nice christmas surprise, hurhurhurrrr. a key for everything for me! its prettier than on the website:D

i don't know why, but my mood to blog has disappeared.

i've been pretty emo lately, and i don't quite know why.
maybe now i'm starting to know what loneliness and rejection feels, together.
its not very nice.

i guess i need time to search my soul.
i don't want to be like her, i really don't.

HELLOHELLO I'M BACK FROM BALI!
it was amazing:D:D:D
haha one week like just flew past!
our singapore team is:
ADULTS; Uncle Gift, Uncle Sheng Siong, Aunty Janice, Uncle Johnny, Uncle Wilson, Daddy, Chermaine
YOUTHS; Sarah Limmy, Joshua, Jiahan, Yi Ping, Joanne, Samuel, Zachery, Ashley, Sarah, Kelsey, Me:D
DAY ONE
the airplane left by 1930, and arrived at the Bali airport around 2130, reached YWAM centre (where we stayed for the next 6 days!) around 2200. debrief, and it was time to sleep. we would be waking up by 0625 the next morning to go to church. the rooms there are much, much better than i expected. i mean, although its like a mission trip and all, we don't have to suffer to be helping people, huh? jia han, sarah and i shared a room, and i took the top bunk haha! the room was pretty simply furnished, and we had our own toilet! heh i was half expected like us having to al share several stalls or something. and there was a/c! wowww. after unpacking, we slept around 2400.

DAY TWO
we went to this church in jimbaran (minus breakfast) and i was half expecting a rural kinda church. when we reached there, i was reallyreally surprised. we could hear the worship leader from like, across the road! when we went in, we were blasted with music, and it was all like super charismatic, very different from the bible church! for like the first few minutes, we were like just standing there and looking at each other. the service was mostly in bahasa, so we didn't understand much! after that we did our skit, which was kinda restrained cos we were not really comfortable at first. then we went out for breakfast. we had this really yummy porridge, which had intestines. heh we gave those to the guys haha! went back for the youth service, and by then we were more or less used to the charismatic-ness. the youths were like super friendly and we played some games with them. haha i forgot most of their names, but still, it was super fun:D there was this funny guy who told us he went to singapore, and the conversation was something like this:

funnyguy (fg): you're from singapore?
us: yeah, you?
fg: oh i went there for some school thing, 5 days!
us: like an exchange? which school?
fg: uh, i forgot.
us: SJI?
fg: uh yeah!
us: oh cool, what did you do there!
fg: uh, i forgot

i won't forget bali!:D

yeah so he was like jumping like crazy next to me, along with everyone during the worship. it was uber loud again, until the crackly microphone sound was heard! scary hehhhh. i really enjoyed myself there:D
lunch was really nice, nuts and chicken and rice! haha as funny as it sounds, it was really yummy:)
we had this short ministry thingy, and the kids were cute and small and funny! we did craft and sang songs and played duck, duck, goose!
we stopped at trolley, their supermarket like thingy, and picked up some stuff. dinner was at this seafood restaurant, really nice too. the food there was always really niceee! bath, chat, (not sure if the guys came over?) and we went to sleep.

DAY THREE
we didn't do much today, other than packing the clothes to be donated and the scavenger hunt thingy. then again, it was a pretty good break! at night, we popped over to the guys room, and had hmmmmmm, A LOT OF FUN HEHHEHHEHHHH:D truth and dare is a really fun game, if you know how to play it well.

DAY FOUR
we split into our two teams, mine being sarah, jia, zach, samuel, cher, uncle johnny, uncle gift and daddy. we went to the slum area first! it was really sweet, cos once we reached there, this little boy ran up and hugged zach. super cute ahhhh, he started taking out his bike and (half deflated) ball and talking a lot. the kids love having their picture taken, and being carried! so we did like, a lot of that:D i shared the christmas story, we sang songs, did craft, and soon it was time to leave.
then we donated iceream to the slum kids at some other slum. no sharing of the gospel, cos they were muslim. but they all really seemed to enjoy themselves and even came back for seconds heheheh:D

DAY FIVE
again, we split to our groups. first, we went to the kindergarten/orphanage place. we did craft with them, and sang too. then we played like loads of games with them and even the older ones had tons of fun. then we went to this other orphanage. komang! oh man he's this super uber cute kid, with a really sweet toothy grin. i was walking in when he suddenly hugged my thigh (thats how tall he is) he was like, the only one who came and played with us when we were waiting for them to get ready. again, story sharing and craft.

DAY SIX
today we moved around as one whole group, except the adults went to the prison for prison ministry. we stopped by the orphanage and i took pictures with komang! he's so small and cuddly and really funny:D we left quite quickly and went to the first slum. story and games! the reat of the day was shopping, which was really about 4 hours. we went to this humongous store, but i didn't get anything, then we went to the kuta beach. i think everyone bought krispy kremes! super uber yummy luhhhh:D most of the girls had their hair braided, but i didn't want to cos my hair is already considerably little (heh!), and it'll be pretty hard to wash at camp. i walked around with joshy, and got a pretty bag haha!
dinner was to be at the jimbaran beach, and eeeeeevil alther (our bus driver cum guide) made us walk on the beach instead of the road. picture this: the sandy beach, pitch dark. you have no idea whats in front of you, what you might step on. it might be a dead fish or something even grosser. we walked for what felt like reallyreally long, and my left slipper disappeared with the high tide so i had to hop/walk half barefoot around heheheeee. i sat next to alther and gave him most of my food, cos i don't even eat seafood. and we played around the world in eighty days and picnic basket with him which was really quite funny! his mind is really slowww hahaa.
we told jason the secret nickname we had given him, septimus! haha he really really looks like the septimus from stardust haaaa. limmy came up with it! he was like, good or bad guy? and we were all like, BAD! haha then he was like, eh, not like me! ahahah super lame ahhhh.
talk about saving the best for the last, we taupok-ed alther and jason/septimus. first was attempting to push him into the sea, which he in the end tried to pull us all in. then we all squated down and sat in a circle, and joanne was like, we're playing a game, and its called.... TAUPOK! and we just jumped on him and screamed. of course, we left most of it to the guys, cos its not exactly appropriate for girls to taupok a guy:D

apparently, the both of them have facebook and friendster! so we searched them down heh.

DAY SEVEN
we left YWAM early in the morning, arrived in Singapore around 1200.

oh, i forgot to say that my voice sounds super weird now, like a guy breaking his voice kinda! i think i dropped almost an octave ah, super gross D:

somehow, i wish i could've stayed longer. its really sad to have gotten to know the kids pretty well and then having to say goodbye in the same day. but i have to say, its been truly a soul vacation. i've never felt quite so refreshed, and ready for more!

i can't wait to go back sometime soon!

HELLOOOOO:D
i'm leaving in about, eight hours! i'm really quite excited now. i still haven't finished packing, and i haven't popped my little neopet in a hotel yet. i've left instructions for the next batch of nametag makers! uncannily enough, out of the five of us who did the nametags so far, four are going for the bali mission trip. i really do hope they take up the responsibilty and do it well!
k i'll only be back on the seventh, so my phone'll be off huh? but i will reply messages when i get back!:D

cos i'm leaving on a jet plane,
don't know when i'll be back again.
oh babe, i hate to go
